Why are Amazon seller fees so high?

A couple sellers were asking the reason for Amazon seller fees being so high.

Amazon has several types of fees, the 2 most talked about are the pick and pack fee and the 15% commission ( that is sometimes smaller in other categories)

Pick and pack fee is a fixed fee calculated by size and weight, the percent fee is normally (except a few cases) a 15% commission of the gross sales value.

Paying 15% for a number of sales you can get from Amazon is a no-brainer.

As for the pick and pack fee, if you think it is too much, it means you are probably selling items that are too cheap, and the pick and pack fee represents a big percent of the products total value.

what you can do is either sell items above the $20 mark, or bundle 2 or 3 lower priced items into 1, therefore paying the pick and pack fee only once.

And this is why Amazon seller fees are so high

Thanks
