Selling on Amazon Canada – Amazon FBA Canada Storage Fees

FBA’s twice-yearly inventory cleanup is scheduled for August 15, 2018.

Units that have been in a US or Amazon FBA Canadian fulfillment center for 181 to 365 days on August 15 will incur a long-term storage fee on that date: $11.25 USD per cubic foot for US inventory or $400 CAD per cubic meter for Canadian inventory.

Units that have been in a US fulfillment center for more than 365 days will incur a fee of $22.50 USD per cubic foot. For Canadian inventory, the fee is $800 CAD per cubic meter.

Starting with the August 15 inventory cleanup, we are introducing a minimum charge of $0.50 USD per unit per month for items that have been in a US fulfillment center for more than 365 days. Sellers will pay either the long-term storage fee or the minimum charge, whichever is greater. Minimum fees will not apply to inventory in Canadian fulfillment centers.

If you have offers in the FBA Small and Light program, visit the help page for applicable long-term storage fees.

As of August 1, 2018, the units below are subject to fees unless you submit a removal order—or they sell—before August 15, 2018:

  • $11.25 USD per cubic foot (181 to 365 days)
  • $22.50 USD per cubic foot (more than 365 days)
  • $400 CAD per cubic meter (181 to 365 days):
  • $800 CAD per cubic meter (more than 365 days)

If you have enabled automated long-term storage removals, the inventory above will not be charged a long-term storage fee.

Automated removal orders will be processed after August 15, 2018. Standard removal fees apply.

To see your settings, go to Automated Long-Term Storage Removals settings. For more information, see Remove inventory automatically.

If you remove inventory before August 15, 2018, or if you have enabled automated long-term storage removals, you won’t be able to send us more units of the ASINs you remove until either:

  • January 1, 2019, when these restrictions will be lifted.
    OR
  • Your inventory level for the removed ASINs falls below our projection of your sales for the next eight weeks. We base that projection on your average sales rate for those ASINs during the preceding 90 days

Your remaining inventory of these ASINs can still be sold.

To see inventory that is subject to long-term storage fees, go to FBA Inventory Age or download the Inventory Age report. For more information, see FBA long-term storage fees.

On September 15, 2018, US long-term storage fee assessments will change from twice yearly to the 15th of every month, as previously announced. The fee assessments in Canada will remain unchanged, at twice yearly.
