Most entrepreneurs struggle with staying focused on a task until it is complete.
Today I am going to reveal to you some of the tricks I use in order to keep my focus and get stuff done.

1 – Have a Good Rest

Make sure you are well rested, humans, focus ability is at its peak the first few hours after having a 7-hour sleep.
So, make sure you get your beauty sleep in order to keep your brain energized in top performance.

2 – Hydrate your brain. Drink lots of water!

Most people say they can’t function until they get their coffee, and that is true, but most of the cases it’s not even because of the caffeine.
It is because your brain needs water and lots of it.
So when you get your morning coffee, before even drinking water, that is where the body will take the water from, to feed the brain.
Remember that your brain on its own burns 20% of your calories, so by keeping a super active brain and body you can even shred a few pounds.
Also, remember to drink lots of water throughout the day, and fill up before bed so you allow your brain to dream.

3 – Create a Schedule

Most people still have a job and a boss to answer to, and that is fine.
But, you are limited to the schedule that they give you, for example, 9 to 5.
So, after 5 and until 11 you should schedule your own work. Write down what tasks you need or want to do.
Don’t worry about the order yet, because when you first write down the tasks, normally people write down what they thought of first, but it’s not necessarily the most important or the most urgent task.
After you write them down, look through them and see if there is one task that needs to be done before you start any other, and make it a priority.
Then filter the rest of the tasks and see what are the most urgent ones of the leftover tasks and number them all.

Since I am a PC guy I use a free Microsoft app on my laptop called “Microsoft To Do”

4 – Perform one task at a time

Most people think they are good at multitasking or that they need to multitask, but the reality is that humans are not meant to multitask.
When you start multitasking 2 things could happen:
 – You perform all tasks with half the quality and the attention
– without even knowing it, you are allowing your brain to think of more than one thing at a time, therefore it can wander away and start thinking about bills, or Game of Thrones, or even about how hungry you are.

Look at your task list and go one by one performing that task and scratching it out when you are done.
Scratching out a complete task feels great and it will give you an injection of endorphins, just as if 1000 people liked your Facebook profile pic.
There is a book I recommend you reading about performing one task at a time, and it’s called “The One Thing”
If you can’t focus enough to read it, get the audio version, or listen to it for free on Youtube.

5 – Listen to Alpha waves

I often turn on YouTube on a separate page, search for “focus Music” and you will find 3 to 8 hour long videos of Alpha Wave sounds, that are meant to stimulate your brain into staying focused.
These videos normally don’t have ads so you will not be interrupted.
Most people I tell to try this have experienced awesome results

6 – Take frequent breaks

There’s research that has proven that the human attention span is decreasing over the years.
So if you are performing long tasks, after a while you start losing your focus on that task and your mind starts wandering.
There’s a thing called the Pomodoro technique, that says you should take a 5-minute break every 20 minutes, and by doing so, after 5 minutes you can increase your production enough to off-balance the 5 minutes you were not working.
You can even download the Pomodoro app on your laptop as a chrome extension and it will tell you when to work and when to take a break.

7 – Try Intermittent Fasting

This is something I’ve been doing for a couple of months to increase brain activity and focus, and not only I am super surprised with the results, but I also have lost 30 pounds.
My cool pants fit me again, and I can get more stuff done in a short period of time.
What else could I ask for?
I downloaded a free app to track my fasting times and weight and it also gives me health tips of what I can and cannot do in Intermittent Fasting

Those are my 7 tips for entrepreneurs to stay focused and get more stuff done
