Hello! What’s up, everyone? You probably read the title of the show and it’s going to say something like “This is the way to do it” or I don’t know because I didn’t write it yet.
So I am making this up as I go. So soon enough, I’m going to write the title when I’m done podcasting.
And it’s going to have to reflect the idea I had right before I started recording, which I’m going to talk about here and it’s how to get things done as soon as you think of something.

Let’s say you want to buy a car. You’re looking to buy the Lambo of your dreams or even a bicycle, okay?

Let’s probably make it a bicycle. You want to buy a bicycle.
Now, that was the thought that you had: “I want to buy a bicycle.” Now, what do you have to do in order to get that bicycle?
So I want you to go look at the end result is getting the bicycle. That’s the basically what you wanted. And we’re not even going to go into reasons of why you want this bicycle or this Ferrari or why you want something right?
That’s always when you look at something in a holistic point, that’s what you want to see is why you want something. But we’re not getting into that today.
We’re gonna look at the steps of how to get what you want, okay.
Assuming you know the why, why you want something then we’re going to look at the steps.

In order to buy the bicycle, you would have to go to a store and buy one.
So you are going to decide what store it is, you’re going to see how much this bike costs.
And now, you’re gonna go back from there. You saw that the bike costs whatever and you know where to get this bike.
Now you need to decide: do you have enough money to buy this bike? If you don’t have enough money to buy this bike, now you have to go back one more step.
What do you have to do in order to make enough money to buy this bike?

Now when you find that thing, you need to go back one step from that and realize, “What do I need to do in order to do what I have to do to make the money?”
For example, if you’ve decided that to make enough money to buy the bike, you would have to start an online business.
Let’s say you are starting a Shopify store or an Amazon selling account for example. You would have to go back from there.
And now you decide, “Yes, so I’m gonna start selling on Amazon and that is gonna make me enough money to buy the bike.
I’m going to need to make an x amount of dollars.”

And you go back from there. Now, what am I going to sell on Amazon in order to make that money?
And then you’re going to research what you’re going to sell, what products are you going to sell, how you’re going to sell it.
And basically, if you’re going to do wholesale, if you’re going to private label a product, if you’re just going into Walmart and you’re gonna start buying the things that are in clearance and then you are going to mark them up and sell them online on eBay, on Amazon.
That’s retail arbitrage. If you’re going to do online arbitrage. Basically, if you’re gonna be doing research online trying to find the best deals online, buying that product and then selling it at a huge markup or the exact mark up on Amazon, on eBay, on Facebook Marketplace.

There’s a lot of people that buy things and sell them on Facebook Marketplace.

And if you are anywhere in North America, you know by now that the Facebook Marketplace is huge.
And if you, for example, are just trying to make enough money to buy that bicycle, let’s say it’s $1,000 bicycle and you have to generate $1,000 in the profit to buy that bike, the Facebook Marketplace is a good place to start because you’re gonna buy something, mark it up there.
More than likely you’re gonna get a bunch of people that say, “please” that means “yes, I want to buy.” When in reality actually it doesn’t.

When people please something on Facebook, it means “Look at me, I want attention.
I want you to see that I am somewhat interested in this.
I want my friends to see that I’m interested in this.” But when you message me back and say “yes, it is available,” people are going to get back to you and say something like, “Sorry, I’ll have to pass.” But, that being said, there is a ton of business being made daily or actually by the second on Facebook Marketplace.
So that is a thing to consider when you want to start selling online.
If this is something that you don’t already do.
If you don’t have an online business already, that’s a place that you can start by selling your wholesale merchandise, you can sell your MLM merchandise whatever it is that you have on the Facebook Marketplace.

Then there’s platforms, that let’s say in Canada would be Kijiji.ca.
If you’re Canadian, you know Kijiji for sure. Kijiji.ca where you can sell things absolutely for free.
No membership, nothing. And in the US, one of the big ones is Craigslist.
So Craigslist.com where you can put things for sale.
Look at Wayfair, Wayfair is a multi-billion dollar company.
I believe they generate close to 10 Billion per year by now. And they started with Craigslist. They started with Craigslist.  Two guys sharing an apartment.
Anyway, the story is not for this episode.

But basically, what I’m saying is go back. Find something you want and go back a step. And then at that step, go back another step. Go back. Walk your way all the way back to the beginning, just so you don’t spend or waste a ton of time, which is very important your time, debating something that cannot be done.
For example, if you decided that you want to buy the Lamborghini and now you’re dreaming about it.
And you go forward with the step instead of going backward. “What am I gonna do when I have this Lamborghini?
I’m going to drive around the beach. This is going to be a convertible Lamborghini so I’m gonna have a top down.
I’m going to do this. I’m going to this.”

And one thing you forgot was to go back and realize that you don’t have the money to buy the Lamborghini. So all the time, all that planning was wasted because you didn’t step back and see that there was one of the steps that you couldn’t complete. And it could be that okay, “I don’t know how to drive.”
Maybe you do have the money but you don’t know how to drive. So you would have to go and learn how to drive.
Although that wouldn’t stop you from buying the Lamborghini, you would just have to learn how to drive eventually if you want to drive it. And I guess that would be a good advice.
If you’re going to drive a Lamborghini, maybe learn how to drive first.

So that’s what I wanted to talk about today is you that have to look at the big picture and don’t jump forward every time you think of something. And this is in business.
My example was about buying a bicycle or buying a Lamborghini or buying anything. It could be just starting a business.

You want to start a business.

Now if you want to go deep into this, you would have to think of your “why”.
Why you want to start a business.
And then you gonna tell me things like, “Oh I’m going to start a business because I want to be my own boss,” “because I want to spend more time working from home so I can see my family 24/7,” “so I can raise my kids” or “just because I want to work from the beach and I want to be sipping pina coladas while I am sourcing private label products,” for example.
That would be your why.

And then we could even go deeper from there, like why do you want to work from home to be with your family?
“Because I don’t spend enough time with them. They’re growing too fast.”
And there are all kinds of reasons of why you want something and you can always go deeper and deeper and deeper one step to realize that sometimes, the main reason do you want something you already have it.

For example, “I wanted to spend more time with my kids.”
When in reality, you probably already have the time.

If it’s not the money, if it’s not the financial freedom, maybe you already have the time. You’re just spending it having crazy ideas when in reality, you could be spending with your kids.
All right. Now that’s why you should look at the why.

But the point of the podcast today is just to discuss the steps backwards that you should take so you don’t waste your time on the things that you are not ready to achieve yet. Because everything is achievable; just some things are not achievable yet.
There are steps you got to take in order to get there. So make sure you take the right steps at the right time just so you can climb that ladder quicker.
And it’s not the ladder to get to the top of your nine to five, this is the ladder to reach where you wanna go, which is always up somewhere.

This is Quin Amorim checking out.
